How to register for VAT?

Businesses can begin registering for VAT on October 1st, 2017 by logging into the Federal Tax Authority's online VAT registration portal (FTA). There are a few easy steps businesses can take to register for VAT in the UAE:

 

1. Log into the VAT registration portal by visiting the Federal Tax Authority website.

 

2. You will receive an email after creating your account asking you to confirm the information and activate it. Using your login credentials, you may now access the portal.

 

3. After logging in, go to the VAT registration form and enter the required information to finish the registration.

 

4. Provide supporting documentation, such as

 

    Passport copy

    Emirates ID

    Trade license

    Any other official documents allowing your business to conduct trade within the UAE.

 

Provide the following details about your business:

 

    Description of the business.

    Turnover figures for the previous 12 months.

    Projected turnover figures for the future.

    Expected values of imports and exports.

 

5. Click Submit after finishing the application. Your application will be processed by the FTA, and they will reply with an email confirming your Tax Registration Number (TRN).
